:A class is usually named after its lead ship. It is not unprecedented for ships to have differing registry numbers, e.g. Yamato, Prometheus, Defiant-2. Do you suggest we disambig between old and new Titan? In that case, I'd await the launch of the pack, then we can see the name, reg and additional description on both the ZEN Store and the Shipyard Interface. ::"USS Titan (NCC-80102)" and "USS Titan (NCC-96100)" seems like a pretty easy "disambiguation" to me, same as we do for any other two ships with the same name. And based on this article, it's a new USS ''Titan''. We shouldn't assume it's a refit of the original unless it specifically says so, ''especially'' with the different registry numbers. --[[User:TimPendragon|TimPendragon]] ([[User talk:TimPendragon|talk]]) 20:41, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

Revision as of 20:41, 18 November 2020

Hey, Admiral Markonian, I think you're assuming a few things not in evidence here... Look at the registry numbers. STO's new Titan class Titan is a *new* ship, not a refit of the original Luna class Titan. The announcement specifically says the class was named after the legendary ship, and does not make any reference to the original Titan still being in service or upgraded to the new design. --TimPendragon (talk) 19:31, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
