"In 2267, the Eagle was attacked and suffered heavy damage by Orion pirates. (TOS episode: "Journey to Babel")." Can someone confirm this? I don't remember a reference to the Eagle at all in JtB. Maybe it was from a novel, or previous script? --Commander, Starbase 23 18:46, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

There was no reference to the Eagle in JtB. I also scanned thru the Blish novelization, and found no ref to the Eagle.--Seventy 19:00, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

registration[]

Lieutenant Ayala just uploaded an image of the Eagle as NCC-956, the article makes not of a comic and perhaps most importantly canon establishment of that registration. That's three sources against one tech manual saying otherwise. Time for this page to be labelled with that registration maybe? -- 8of5 01:02, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Agreed. Just about to suggest that myself. --The Doctor 01:04, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Subclass[]

There appears to be a discontinuity regarding the Eagle's subclass. The Eagle is seen as early as 2260, clearly belonging to the Constitution-class, but the Bonhomme Richard subclass, according to its page, wasn't ordered until the mid-2260s. --Columbia clipper 04:11, July 5, 2010 (UTC)

I would have thought all the Eagle's construction history sources would use stardates or reference stardates. I'd wonder which source puts the ship construction as late as the 2260s. -- Captain MKB 04:27, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
The source given is the Starfleet Technical Manual. The Bonhomme Richard subclass article says that book stated that the vessels of that subclass were "ordered for Starfleet appropriation on stardate 3220 (mid-2260s)." --Columbia clipper 13:12, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
Well, in all actuality, the manual doesn't say "2260s" it only says Stardate 3220. There's no 100% concrete evidence that tells us when stardate 3220 took place, as TOS stardates are rarely sequential. -- Captain MKB 13:27, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
