I think the name had been misspelled in the SFTM. There was an astronomer named Milton Humason, without the first n. Diane Duane spells it correctly in The Wounded Sky. - RTS2011RN (talk) 10:27, 1 January 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for finding that. "Humanson" does look weird. I just bought "Wounded Sky", and there is only a namecheck on the USS Milton Humason without giving any details. Are you proposing we should merge the two pages? Kind regards, -- Markonian 13:52, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
I think that, presented without context, this name should stay as is. It is obviously a misspelling but we have to maintain accuracy in reference to the source. While the source generally implied all the ships in the list were named after real astronomers, it did not explicitly state that Humanson was named for Humason, meaning it would be our own presumption governing the merge/renaming -- something our rules forbid. We don't simply rename things based on supposition that they were supposed to be named a different way.
Also, in The Wounded Sky, the USS Milton Humason was given at least one detail - it was a different ship type than the USS Humanson. Kind regards, -- captainmike Wiki-wordmarkX 13:58, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
