Moving some data[]

I propose that we move some of the data about the Lexington around. The TNG novel: Reunion lists the Lexington commanded by Ben Zoma as a Constitution-class starship, which could be retconned away. However, The Buried Age supports the Lexington being an older vessel because it was described as being around the same age as the Stargazer, although doesn't mention Constitution-class specifically. This means that the history could apply to the Excelsior-class USS Lexington which is listed as being in service in the 2340s.

This would also mean that the Excelsior-class Lexington would be the ship that was referenced in Red Sector (although described as a Galaxy-class starship). --The Doctor 10:21, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Additionally, there is a reference to a Steamrunner-class Lexington from Armada II. Unless a source set after 2371 directly references the Nebula-class Lexington, I propose that the Steamrunner-class Lexington gets its own article. --The Doctor 10:24, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

I've already written links to the Armada 2 Lexie -- there's no reason it shouldn't be a valid ship, you're right.
As to the other, this makes sense, but there is a passage in "Red Sector" describing Lexington as a fairly new ship (which makes sense for the Nebula over the Excelsior) -- Red Sector was around 2357 -- how does that compare to Buried Age? -- Captain MKB 15:20, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
The segment from The Buried Age which takes place in 2355 contains a conversation between Picard and Ben Zoma:
"Well it (the Lexington) needs some refitting first. It's about as old as the 'Gazer - they're looking into redesigning the fire safety systems in ships from that period, make them more reliable."
This suggests that the Lexington is a much older vessel, dating back to the 2280s or 2290s at least. I think references suggest that the Stargazer was launched in 2285. --The Doctor 15:32, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
