Command division personnel Edit

Why is Ranul Keru listed among the command division personnel? His station is given as chief of security, which seems like it belongs under, and is listed under, another department. Is he third officer or a shift leader? --Columbia clipper 23:06, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

I think the misnomer was a result of different formats being used between different personnel articles -- he should be listed as "senior staff", as befitting his position as a department head -- i've tried to reformat it to a more standard layout. -- Captain MKB 04:06, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Can't say I'm really convinced of the need for a separate senior staff listing, all the senior stay are listed as the heads of their respective departments anyway. --8of5 04:28, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Eh, I think it looks spiffy. -- Captain MKB 04:31, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
I agree with 8of5; I don't think the senior staff need to be listed as a group. It was clearer before. --Columbia clipper 04:55, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
But then we have the description that senior staff might include more or less members than the list of department heads. So the list might be necessary to clarify which department heads are considered part of the senior staff itself, but I do admit this is adding a redundancy to the article.
Anyway, the only thing I changed was section titles to match some of the other expansive personnel articles, all the content is still here in generally the same order -- so I don't think it's fair to say it's "unclear" now compared to before, Columbia, even if it is admittedly more redundant with the extra list being discussed. -- Captain MKB 05:20, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
You changed more than the section titles. You also expanded the first section, "Command division"/"Senior staff," from six entries to twenty. It was much easier to read without the additional redundant information from below. I just looked at some other lists of ships' personnel, and all of them seem to unclude only the commanding officer, first officer, and second officer under "Senior staff."--Columbia clipper 12:35, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Couldn't we just put an asterisk by the names or something to get rid of the redundancy? --8of5 19:25, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Maybe just put (senior staff). whatever. -- Captain MKB 11:39, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
