If anyone else reads this, please pay attention to the flashback where Spock tells Saavik about the Horta. Spock mind-melds with the Horta in 2267, and then tells Saavik about the experience on his next leave (if I remember right). It doesn't work if she wasn't rescued from Hellguard until 2274. Like I said, if you're reading it, just tell me I'm wrong. Thanks. – AT2Howell 16:11, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
- You're not wrong -- there are several alternate scenarios for Saavik's rescue from Hellguard from Pocket Books, DC Comics and Marvel Comics. -- Captain MKB 16:35, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
- You are wrong but it's very easy to see how you made the mistake because the scene is rather confusingly written. It states that Spock always tells Saavik about his recent experiences on his next leave. But it also states that he's just completed the second five-year mission, which would place it around 2276/2277. He's telling her about an incident that's directly related to her current situation rather than picking something recent. – Skteosk 08:43, October 16, 2010 (UTC)
- I haven't read the book, but it seems that your reading comprehension is top-notch, Skteosk, with your correct summation of the time period you were reading about. -- Captain MKB 16:04, October 16, 2010 (UTC)
