Talma Pren was a female Human in the early 24th century.

Pren was an agent of the Asfar Qatala crime syndicate, working as a middleman between Qatala head Mahfouz Qadir and the mercenaries employed by the organization. One of those mercenaries was Su Chen-Mai, who was hired to find a rumored interdimensional portal in the pre-Hebitian ruins of an unnamed planet near the Cardassian border. She had also worked, in a double-dealing scheme, with the Orion Syndicate, and with Baatin al-Halak and Arava on Farius Prime.

In 2336, after Qadir discovered a Starfleet Intelligence agent, Lieutenant Laura Burke, had infiltrated the Qatala, he charged Pren with disposing of the spy. Burke had by then convinced Arava to turn herself over to her custody and testify against the Qatala. Pren convinced both that she would make a better witness, having been in the organization longer. While in custody, Pren killed Burke and destroyed her shuttle.

However, Pren then made it appear that she was the one killed, and assumed the identity of Lieutenant Burke in an effort to take control of the Hebitian portal for herself. To this end, she and a partner, Vaavek, took Commander Samir al-Halak off the USS Enterprise-C and to the planet. Pren was killed when the Enterprise, after tracking her to the system, triggered a massive solar flare that engulfed her ship. (ST - The Lost Era novel: Well of Souls)
