Tankris was a 23rd century Human woman. She served in Starfleet as a yeoman aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise in the 2260s under the command of Captain James T. Kirk.

Biography[]

In 2267, Tankris was an observer seated beside Prefect Jaris during the shipboard investigation of three murders on Argelius II. At one point, Redjac took control of the briefing room viewscreen, broadcasting threats and devilish laughter over the intercom. She asked Kirk what was happening, and Kirk realized it had taken control of the Enterprise. At one point, it reanimated the dead Chief Investigator Hengist, who grabbed Tankris and threatened her at knife-point in an attempt to generate terror, but Leonard McCoy had tranquilized most of the crew, so they both just laughed at him. Frustrated, Hengist threw Tankris at McCoy, then tried to attack Kirk before being injected with a tranquilizer. (TOS episode & Star Trek 8 novelization: Wolf in the Fold)

Her name was spelled Tancris in the novelization.
