Tantalus was a location in the Alpha Quadrant. Charles and Morgan Lefler were briefly assigned to Tantalus by Starfleet in 2353 to conduct plasma studies, and were accompanied by their daughter, Robin. Other residents of Tantalus included Mr. Consadine and Ms. Wis'noki. (NF short story: "Lefler's Logs")
- Tantalus is presumably meant to be related to the locale established in TOS episode "Dagger of the Mind", though there seems to be little relationship between the penal colony seen in that episode, and the setting described by young Robin Lefler. This could be attributed to the time difference between the two stories, or else this might be a separate settlement on planet Tantalus V.
