The Taragi-shar Range was a series of igneous mountains on the planet Obsidian. The Taragi-shar mountains served as shelter for desert nomads during periods when the Sunstorm Truce was declared. In 2296, the dissident Vulcan Sered and his cult of Faithful set up their base in the Taragi-shar Range, and there held Dr. Leonard McCoy hostage for several days. The Rupathan Range is within a few days' travel of the Rupathan Range. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Forge)
