For the primary universe counterpart, see Taran'atar.

In the mirror universe, Taran'atar was a Jem'Hadar in the service of the Dominion who lived during the latter half of the 24th century.

By the early 2380s, he had a long and distinguished service record and was considered an Honored elder. He was born without his species' normal dependency on ketracel-white, though he still took it everyday as he regarded it as part of his duty as a First to accept the gift of the Founders with gratitude as an example to his men. The Vorta Eris regarded him as "a gifted thinker condemned to live among the cannon fodder."

In 2381, Taran'atar and his men, including Navigator Rogan'agar, traveled with Eris aboard a Dominion battleship to a sector of space less than five light-years distant from the Idran system in the Gamma Quadrant to investigate a massive subspace fluctuation which had been detected by a deep space probe. It was located a great distance from Dominion space. They were able to determine that it was a stable wormhole and sent another probe to determine its endpoint. While they soon lost contact with the probe, Eris immediately reported their discovery to the Founders. She promised to mention Taran'atar by name for his role in the discovery. (ST - Mirror Universe novel: Rise Like Lions)

In 2386, Taran'atar represented the Jem'Hadar at the discussions between the Dominion and the Galactic Commonwealth. The Female Changeling later assigned Taran'atar to remain in the Alpha Quadrant as an observer. (ST - Section 31 novel: Disavowed)
