Targalus IX was a planet located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants, the ninth planet in orbit of the Targalus star system.
History and specifics[]
In the 24th century, Targalus IX was an inhabited world, homeworld of the Targalan civilization.
By the 2380s decade, the Targalans were ready for their planet to join the Federation. In the year 2382 the Targalan world, ready for Federation membership, abandoned their capitalist economic system. After joining, the introduction of post-scarcity replication technology made this system able to be quickly dismantled. Targalans embraced the change, but some of the planet's former elites turned to kidnapping and terrorism as reprisal actions to losing their monetary wealth. (LDs episode: "Shades of Green")
