Tarkalean tea, in the 24th century, is popular among the crew and civilians on Deep Space 9, including Julian Bashir, Kira Nerys and Odo. After the disappearance of Benjamin Sisko, Bashir gave Kasidy Yates a cup of Tarkalean tea to soothe her nerves. (DS9 episode: "What You Leave Behind")

In 2376, Kelas Parmak gave Elim Garak a cup of Tarkalean tea. (DS9 novel: A Stitch in Time)

Tarkalean tea has also been spelled as "Tarkelian tea."
