Tau Gamma was a Federation star system, located in the the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant near its border with the Delta Quadrant.

History and specifics

In 2267, the Tau Gamma system's population was 15 billion. The Federation starship USS Enterprise encountered a damaged Borg scout vessel near the borders of the Delta and Alpha Quadrants and pursued it to the Tau Gamma system. There, the Enterprise prevented the alien ship from using an implosion weapon to destroy Tau Gamma IV. (TOS - New Visions comic: "Resistance")

The Tau Gamma system's orbit was the location of a number of worlds, including second planet Tau Gamma II, a Federation colony which underwent a planetary breakup/collapse in the late 23rd century. (TOS comics: , "Not... Sweeney!", "Going, Going...", "... Gone!")
