The Taubat were an ancient civilization that existed within the Milky Way Galaxy, occupying territory at point is the Alpha or Beta Quadrants.
Overview[]
The Taubat were a race created by the Metar civilization to safeguard the Meta during a period of dormancy. Although they are capable of interstellar flight, they appear to be a technologically primitive race, to the Klingons regarded as peasants.
Religion[]
The Taubat appear to regard generation of energy as a religious act, as they treat their power stations like temples. These temples were powered by a dilithium reactor, but due to disregard of maintenance, the power temples are often crude and unstable, leaking radiation which often causes problems with the Taubat people, an example being that the Federation responded to a cry of help from the planet Karazin, where the Taubat had been infected with a deadly plague due to radiation. It is later revealed that the Metar are the centerpiece of the Taubat religion, as the Taubat see the Metar as deities.
Commonwealth[]
The main capital planet of the Taubat Commonwealth is the planet Mazikaan, a snow-covered world which is very rich in minerals. However, the jump from Anomaly space to the normal universe had greatly upset the Taubat; according to the Klingons, the Taubat went insane on the planet Taal, while a rebellion group was formed on the planet Ixion, although the Klingons learned upon investigation that Orion piracy had been behind the revolt. Orion pirates had also enslaved Taubat people as minor labor on the planet Taphet, which forced the Romulans to step in by freeing the Taubat prisoners and stealing the Orion mineral stockpiles. The Taubat at first appeared friendly to the United Federation of Planets, but the support was a mere ruse to get the Metar out of stasis far quicker than expected, something which the Hubrin revealed once the Federation, Klingons and Romulans joined forces with the Hubrin to combat the Metar.
Vehicles[]
Only three types of Taubat vehicles are present among Taubat colonies, being the Taubat tank, Taubat armed personnel carrier and Taubat artillery. These vehicles however are weak as most units and defenses of the Klingons, Romulans and the Federation can destroy either one of these three vehicles with one shot. But this weakness is usually overcome by the Taubat by attacking in numbers, often attacking in groups of four tanks, APCs or artilleries in case of an incursion against a hostile party.
