- For the primary universe counterpart, see Taurik.
In the mirror universe, Taurik was a Vulcan male who lived during the 24th century. Like the vast majority of his species, he was a slave of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance.
In 2377, he was serving as the personal slave of Martok, the Regent of the Klingon Empire, on Qo'noS. During Martok's frequent drunken stupors, Taurik initiated mind melds with the Regent so as to make it easier for Taurik to manipulate him telepathically without making physical contact. To that end, Taurik used his telepathic abilities to prompt and exacerbate Martok's boorish and slovenly behavior. For instance, he compelled Martok to attack Trekal Darhe'el, the Cardassian ambassador to Qo'noS, and deny the Cardassian access to the captured Romulan cloaking device in direct contravention of the Articles of the Alliance. This resulted in a significant deterioration in Klingon-Cardassian relations.
Martok's increasingly erratic and unstable behavior led to his leadership of the Klingon Empire being challenged by Klag, who slew him in honorable combat and thereby succeeded him as Regent.
In 2378, Taurik was killed when Regent Klag ordered that all slaves within Klingon space were to be executed. (ST - Mirror Universe novel: Rise Like Lions)
