Tazi Prime was a habitable planet, a class O oceanic world and the prime planet in the Tazi star system, located in the Risa sector and Sirius sector block of the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. It was the homeworld of the Tazani civilization and was united under the Tazani government.

History and specifications[]

The planet appeared similar to a class M habitable world from orbit, due to the presence of large landmasses. However, a global ocean was the dominant surface feature. To small, spheroid moons orbited the planet along with geologically active asteroids.

In the year 2396, the Tazani Science Ministry partnered with Starfleet to establish a Sierra class space station above Tazi Prime. The station was crewed by personnel specialized in geology and focused studying the planet's asteroid belt.

The productive cooperation between the Tazani and their alien partners led the Tazani government to submitting a petition for membership in the Federation. The application was pending as of 2408.

In 2409, the Tazi system was part of the Federation and targeted by Klingon raiders, who hid their starships in the orbital asteroids, which masked the tetryon emissions from their ship's cloaking devices. Because Tazi Station lacked offensive capabilities, Commanders Akira Sulu and Samuel Winters dispatched a Starfleet ship to clear any Klingon presence from around Tazi Prime. The mission was a success, and Tazi Prime secure once more. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Tazi System Patrol")
