Cup of Tea

Captain Sulu's morning cup of tea.

Tea was a beverage which could be served either hot or cold. The tea was made from plant leaves and steeped in hot water. If the tea was to be served cold, then the tea was gradually cooled and then poured over ice. There were many varieties of tea from various different planets. (ST website : The Path to 2409)

History and specifics[]

(TOS comic: "Aberration on Abaris")

Much later, Admiral Picard would continue ordering tea from Starfleet replicators. After Seven of Nine completed a version of the Kobayashi Maru scenario in the early 2400s decade, Picard ordered the holodeck computer to provide tea for two. When the computer requested a variety, Picard indicated "you know who I am" and the replicated tea service confirmed Earl Grey, hot. (PIC - Stargazer comic: "Issue 1")
