Biography[]
In 2269, Erickson accompanied Captain James T. Kirk, Commander Spock, Meijan Grey, and Loom Aleek-Om on an historical research mission on the planet Gateway. Using the Guardian of Forever the team were able to study Orion's early history, and Vulcan's recent history. (TAS episode & Log One novelization: Yesteryear)
- His name was also spelled "Erikson". In TOS - Crucible novel: The Fire and the Rose, which revisited the events of this episode, author David R. George III inadvertently swapped the names of Bates and Erickson, with "Paul Bates" traveling to Orion's past and "Erikson" remaining on the ship.
