Tekkor

Tekkor is a class O planet located in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrant.

It is inhabited by Tekkorian humanoids as well as a race of intelligent cephalopods. The planet sported a variety of marine life, including fish, coral, and eels.

History and specifics[]

The planet developed as a class M world with six continents. But in the 14th century, three months of constant downpours flooded Tekkor, turning it into a water world. Surviving air-breathing Tekkorians adapted to living within their sunken cities.

By the 23rd century, the cloudy atmosphere made skies gloomy and the ocean gray. In 2267, Survey II arrived in orbit to study Tekkor. The ship was attacked by an enormous Tekkorian sea-snake, but the red octopus monsters salvaged the damaged vessel and a Tekkorian hospital treated the survivors.

Two months later, the Federation starship USS Enterprise was dispatched to locate the missing surveyor. Aboard Galileo, James T. Kirk, Pavel Chekov, Smith and three other crewmen searched for clues on the ocean's surface. Cephalopods led the shuttle to a submerged city where the surveyor was kept. Eventually, friendly relations were established between the Tekkorians and Starfleet crews, with hopes of a future alliance. (TOS comic: "Under the Sea")
