The Temazi were a xenophobic pre-warp humanoid species native to Temazi.
Thousands of years ago, they were visited by an advanced alien race. The Temazi revered them as gods, and the aliens left behind advanced weapons. In 2254, Starfleet assigned Captain Christopher Pike to find the weapons before a group of rogue Klingons could, but both he and the Klingons were exposed and attacked by the Temazi.
