The Temer class was a 25th century Khitomer Alliance starship type, a tier 6-rated Alliance raider in Allied Fleet Service operations in the 2410s decade. (STO website: House Shattered: 11th Anniversary Event!)
History and specifications[]
The ship was named for Commander Temer. In the year 2409, the fledgling Romulan Republic was a guest at the Khitomer Conference. Proconsul D'Tan hope to gain official recognition for the new Romulan nation from the Klingon Empire. Klingon High Councillor Woldan was arguing at the podium when the Tal Shiar beamed an explosive device in behind him. Temer, a senior officer of the Romulan Republic Navy at the time, rushed to the stage and surrounded himself and the bomb with a personal forcefield. He was killed in the detonation but the explosion was contained within the forcefield. Wodan was swayed by the Romulan's sacrifice, and the Klingon Empire recognised the Romulan Republic as a legitimate nation. (STO - From the Ashes mission: "Turning Point")

After the Khitomer-class Alliance battlecruiser, the Alliance raider was the second Allied Cooperative Starship Development Board starship class that blended technology from its member states. In this case, the Temer class combined Romulan and Klingon technology to perform as a fast, powerful escort vessel capable of outmaneuvering and outgunning opponents. Besides the burgeoning Allied Fleet Service, dedicated Alliance classes like the Temer were made available to the military services of each member state. At the time of launch, those were Federation Starfleet, the Klingon Defense Force, the Romulan Republic Navy, and the Dominion's Jem'Hadar Vanguard Fleet.
