For other uses, see Teplan.

Teplan I was an inhabited class M world, a planet in the space claimed by the Dominion. It was the first and only planet of the Teplan system, located in the Kendari sector of the galaxy's Gamma Quadrant. Teplan I was the homeworld of the Teplan people. (STO - Gamma Quadrant mission: "Storm Clouds Gather")

History[]

In the 22nd century, the space-faring Teplans resisted coercion by the Dominion. In return, the Jem'Hadar released the Teplan blight, a fatal disease, on Teplan I. Forced to focus on survival, the Teplan culture crumbled.

In 2372, the Federation scientists Doctor Julian Bashir and Lieutenant Jadzia Dax answered a distress call from Teplan I, and developed a vaccine for the blight. (DS9 episode: "The Quickening")
