Terrapin was a DY-100 class sleeper ship launched in the year 1996 at the conclusion of Earth's Eugenics Wars.

Service history and disposition[]

Isabelle Danur and her sect of psychokinetic Augments used the spacecraft to depart Earth. The vessel launched from the Cambodian jungle only hours after Khan Noonien Singh and his followers fled the planet aboard the SS Botany Bay. Terrapin was fully provisioned, and members of her faction were skilled enough to pilot the vessel.

A propulsion system failure misdirected the craft from its intended destination of Alpha Centauri into the Sicondor Sector. When the sleep chambers malfunctioned, personnel awoke in the early 23rd century, and had to travel for nearly a year to reach the nearest class M planet, Sicon III. Settlers disassembled the vessel for use as raw materials to fashion their underground colony, Serenity Settlement.

Generations later, a portion of the cavern containing recognizable portions of the spacecraft was left as a shrine to the settlement's founders. A ship's log was on display, relating the story of the ship's voyage to Sicon. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Danurian Factor)
