Terry J. Erdmann is the author of several reference books, including the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion, Action!, The Secrets of Star Trek: Insurrection, The Magic of Tribbles: The Making of Star Trek Deep Space Nine - Trials and Tribble-ations (eBook), The Tribble Handbook and Star Trek: Where No One Has Gone Before.

Erdmann and Paula M. Block also wrote the non-fiction titles Star Trek 101, Star Trek 365 and Star Trek: The Next Generation 365 and the introductions of the Prophecy and Change anthology and several of the Signature Edition reprints. Erdmann has also written companion books for the films Labyrinth and The Last Samurai and the television series The 4400 and Monk.
