Template:Otheruses3 The Tesla-class was a small Federation engineering shuttlecraft in operation in the late 24th century. They carried demolition charges that actually were low-yield photon torpedoes designed for clearing orbital wreckage. The shuttles would normally carry four and be capable of firing two at a time.

In September 2371, several Tesla-class shuttles were assigned to Veridian III for salvage operations for the wreckage of the USS Enterprise-D. During the operation, three of these shuttles were destroyed by Romulan attackers. Thankfully, the Romulan attack was halted by Commander William T. Riker, who launched demolition charges at the attackers. (ST novel: The Return)

The class was likely named for the scientist Nikola Tesla.
