Tetramyzol was a type of sedative drug available to the Federation in the 24th century.

History and specifics[]

Made from material in a cavern-dwelling sponge on Vulcan, tetramyzol was a mild depressant that induced sleep and reduced brain-wave activity.

In 2371, The Doctor give Tuvok a dose of tetramyzol, putting him out for at least 30 minutes, helping him recover after an unusual mind meld with Sozoas, who had been treated with a psychotropic compound. (VOY novel: Incident at Arbuk)
