Tezcatlipoca, also known as the Dark Mirror and Mirror Man, was a mythological character from the Aztec culture of planet Earth. He was an Other-worlder.
He was a warrior who visited travelers at night, and was the personification of a cold, calculating fighter. His body was covered with reflective surfaces which sometimes depicted images of military warfare. His eyes were smoking discs of mirror that seemed to look into a person’s soul. Sometimes a rhythmic flickering appeared in his chest area where his heart would be. He had a deep, metallic, booming voice. He was of indeterminate height and his left foot was missing.
History[]
In 2366, Deanna Troi had a series of waking dreams in which she saw Tezcatlipoca. She first encountered him in a desert while following the advice of Matriarch and evading Sekhmet. At one point, the Mirror Man picked her up by her shoulders, with her head chest high, her feet dangling.
She encountered him again during a waking dream on the planet Rampart as Other-worlders were helping Dissenters in an assault on CephComm, headquarters of Cephalic Security thought-police. This time he was as tall as the buildings in the compound. He confronted Crichton, who was in charge of the facility. Crichton aimed a truck-mounted radiation cannon toward Tezcatlipoca, who pointed at his mirrored chest. Crichton fired, but the discharge reflected off the mirrored body and disintegrated Crichton instead. When Troi awoke from the dream, Crichton was still alive. (TNG novel: Gulliver's Fugitives)
