Thaal Sinestro was the leader of the Sinestro Corps.
History[]
Though an enemy of the Green Lantern Corps, Sinestro agreed to work with them to meet the threat of Nekron. When the plan failed, Ganthet enacted a last ditch escape to the Kelvin timeline, bringing all the ring bearers with him. Materializing in 2262 in Klingon space, Sinestro made his way to Qo'noS where a yellow ring had chosen General Chang as its bearer, the newly crowned Emperor of the Klingon Empire. Finding appeal in the Klingon's vision of order, Sinestro agreed to aid him. Supercharging the Klingon fleet with his ring, Sinestro led a force to Starbase 12, clashing with the other ring bearers who had escaped his reality. After the USS Enterprise, enhanced by Pavel Chekov's blue ring, had fired on him, Sinestro subjected the crew to their worst fears. When Sinestro attempted to have Larfleeze and Atrocitus temporarily ally with him to slay Hal Jordan, he was ambushed by the other surviving Green Lanterns and taken prisoner aboard the Enterprise, though only by his own choice to see if they were right about Nekron's survival. When the Enterprise's theory was correct, Sinestro exited his cell and engaged in battle until Spock became the new White Lantern and defeated Nekron. In the aftermath, Sinestro managed to escape. Over the next six months, Sinestro returned to Qo'noS and filled the power vacuum, becoming the new emperor as he waited for the fear of the Klingon Empire to recharge his ring before his scouts brought him a captured Saint Walker. Learning that Walker had found a Manhunter, Sinestro led a force to claim it, managing to secure it from the Federation. Recruiting Larfleeze as a temporary ally, Sinestro salvaged the Manhunter's faster-than-light capabilities and memory core. Fashioning the remains into a suit of armor, Sinestro left Larfleeze in charge of the Empire in exchange for the orange ring as extra fuel for the armor, reaching Oa. Finding that the Oans were less advanced than the ones in his reality, Sinestro tapped the power of the fear entity fuelling the Central Power Battery and began an attack on Oa before the Federation and Klingons, now under the control of Khan Noonien Singh arrived. After the Oans had grown desperate enough to unleash their prototype green ring, it chose Kirk as its bearer who bought time enough for the other Green Lanterns to recharge themselves. After the Augments had fallen, Sinestro was fired on by the Enterprise, charged by the energy of Carol Ferris's ring, wounding him enough that he fled to the Anti-Matter Universe.
