Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Thanatos VII was a planet located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants, the seventh planet in orbit of the Thanatos star system.

History and specifics[]

Thanatos VII had become a Federation member by 2378. (ST reference: Star Charts)

In 2370, a plasma conduit was manufactured on this planet using a new interphasic fusion process, which was later installed on the USS Enterprise-D at Starbase 84. However, this new process attracted interphasic organisms, which later infested the ship's crew and caused the Enterprise's warp core to malfunction. (TNG episode: "Phantasms")

It was assumed that these interphasic parasites were indigenous to Thanatos VII. (ST reference: The Starfleet Survival Guide)
