Thax is a class M planet located in Sector 004 of the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant. It is the homeworld of the humanoid Thaxians.
History[]
In 2265, a group of exiled rebel Thaxians commandeered the Federation starship USS Enterprise and diverted the ship to Thax. Captain James T. Kirk and Commander Spock escaped confinement and hailed Thax authorities, who preferred to aim nuclear missiles at the Enterprise rather than let the criminals return. The rebels were ousted from the ship and fled in a shuttlecraft, only to be blown up by a Thax missile. Kirk chose to depart the sector and not visit Thax. (TOS comic: "Planet of Rejects")
