The Badgey Directive is a Lower Decks mobile app for iOS and Android.
Description[]
- Finally, after yet another tedious duty roster, the Lower Decks crew of the USS Cerritos is ready to party at a Zebulon Sisters concert! Tendi's even more excited, as this'll be her first Chu Chu Dance! But first, they need to get through routine training exercises on the holodeck, which Boimler has been entrusted to organize. Boimler? With power? When has that ever been good?
- Impatient to get to the dance, the crew try to end the simulation only to find the Cerritos' computer has been hijacked by rogue AI Badgey. He's locked them in the holodeck and deactivated all safety protocols – so now Boimler, Tendi, Rutherford and Mariner must work through Star Trek stories, both familiar and new, so they can return to the real world. But be careful – if they don't succeed, they'll die for real. And even worse: they'll miss the party!
Summary[]
Episodes and events[]
Log entries[]
- Captain's log, supplemental.
- We may have found our first glimmer of hope and the key to escaping from Badgey's endless torment. ("Measure of a Badge")
- Captain's log.
- Badgey is sending us on what should have been an easy supply run. But because Mariner had a go at him, we're starting a lot further away. ("Threshold My Beer")
- Captain's log.
- Badgey's new drill has us tracking down a missing Maquis vessel. I think I know where this is going. ("Tendi The Caretaker")
- Acting Captain's Log
- Sisko keeps hanging around the bridge and acting weird. I have to find something for him to do. ("The Upper Deckers")
- Captain's log.
- Badgey has once again given us a grueling drill. Second contact is a delicate and unpredictable process. We're en route to Galadonia, to repeat one of our first missions. But this time, I've obtained clearance to officially offer relief from the famine. ("Boimler, His Eyes Red")
- Captain's log, stardate holo-knows.
- The cube's pursuit remains relentless. I know it's time to call in some expert help. We can't outrun the unidentified flying object and it's clearly tracking us. Thus, the only conclusion I can draw is that the cube is an enemy probe. ("The Vindicta Maneuver")
- Acting Science Officer's log.
- We've received a request for medical assistance. It's an extinction level emergency. I've locked in a course, max warp. ("Fear Doctor")
- Badgey's log. Drill number 372.
- The meatbags continue to thwart my attempts on their lives. However, our continued adventures together have lent me some insight. I've decided to take a break from being an evil genius to study them more closely. As much as it pains me to admit, I haven't been doing my job properly. I will conduct today's drill as normal, and record the events for analysis. Fun fact: did you know humans contain approximately 5 liters of blood? Just consider how much trauma they can hold! ("Badgey's Day")
- Captain's log.
- Badgey has set us on a course for Starfleet HQ in San Francisco. We are to attend FleetCon, the fan convention for all things Starfleet. ("A Real Can of Worms")
- Captain's log, supplemental.
- After being an exceptional ensign for so long... I deserve the ultimate reward. So I'm promoting myself to Captain! ("Naked Never")
- Acting Captain's Log
- Crew is still performing at a high level, but morale is waning. ("Tinker, Techie, Ensign, Spy")
- Acting Captain's Log, stardate unclear.
- Badgey's up to something. Acting Securit Chief Mariner's tactical analysis suggests we should... "chill". ("Revenge of the Tribbles")
- Acting Captain's log.
- The Cerritos will be docking shortly. We'll be picking up some engineering equipment and continuing to the Guernica system. Not just engineering equipment, either. An actual engineer! One who is very interested in Rutherford's field modifications. ("Galaxy Spiral")
- Acting Captain's log.
- ... demonstrating yet again the value of uniquely human properties like creativity. Whimsy. Mercy. Humor. I could go on! But in short, humanity rules! End log. ("I'm Shempo")
- Provisional Ensign's log.
- The trade mission was not as smooth as anticipated. My colleagues' "colorful" personalities make every away party something of a gamble. Ensign Rutherford is a most reliable engineer and his disposition is laudably even. Though retreat into his "happy place" can cause him to ignore threats. Ensign Tendi may be excitable, but her capacities cannot be faulted. Computer, delete "may be" and replace with "is". Is excitable. Ensign Boimler is an adequate commander and increasingly skilled diplomat. Which make his occasionally unbearable smugness all the more baffling. That leaves Ensign Mariner. An extraordinarily proficient officer, but ... something of a "wild card", as they say. ("Tribble Threat")
- Provisional Ensign's log, supplemental.
- Ensign Mariner is definitely concealing something. Her attempts at deception rarely prove fruitful beyond the short term. Personal note: Attempt to control sense of vindication when proven correct, again. ("Tribble Threat")
- Provisional Ensign's log, supplemental.
- Ensign Boimler requested I take my "tribble-loving face" away. Accordingly, I am conducting a search to locate the missing tribbles. It has not proved challenging. ("Tribble Threat")
- Captain's log (Carol Freeman).
- We've detected a large wormhole in a nearby system. We're conducting analysis, and approaching with caution. T'Ana is – I can barely believe it. These results are amazing. There's not doubt about it – that wormhole is our ticket out of here. We'll be home free before the week is through. ("Nom")
- Acting Captain's log.
- We are attempting to contact Tendi and Rutherford. Their shuttle is drifting off course. ("Hangman's Halter")
- Acting Captain's log.
- The Cerritos will be docking shortly. We'll be picking up some engineering equipment and continuing to the Guerica system Not just engineering equipment, either. An actual engineer! ("Galaxy Spiral")
- Security officer's log.
- Rutherford and Boimler insisted on forming the away team. No idea why Badgey wants us to survey a water planet, but they're loving it. ("Eau de Ambergris")
- Acting Captain's log, addendum.
- Rutherford will be taking point on this drill... ("Stop Owning Thyself")
- Acting Captain's log.
- Badgey has vanished again, leaving us without a drill. The rest of the crew are using their downtime to goof off, I presume. I, however, have elected to use my time productively. ("The Good, the Bad, and the Ruthie")

Crossovers[]
Doctor Who and The Badgey Directive crossed over for a four-day event beginning on International Friendship Day, 1 August 2024. The Tenth Doctor, River Song, K-9, and a Dalek visited the USS Cerritos in the event "Who Can It Be Now?". In a concurrent story, Brad Boimler and Beckett Mariner were pulled through a temporal rift into Epic Games' Doctor Who: Lost in Time mobile game event "A Trek to Skaro". "Who Can It Be Now?" was also playable November 21-24, 2024.
Background[]
- Originally set in 2380, the game was updated to reflect Badgey's apparent death in 2381 in LD episode: "A Few Badgeys More", with the AI being revived inadvertently from computer storage.
- Stories now take place prior to the lower deckers' promotions to lieutenant, but after SNW episode: "Those Old Scientists". In more recently released adventures, the characters recalled the time portal from that episode. However, characters such as Christopher Pike and Number One had interacted with the lower deckers as holograms prior to the release of that episode.
