Summary[]
Admiral Spock's agent T'Prynn gains passage on the Eighth Happiness and gets the ship captured by the ISS Endeavour so that she can talk to Captain Zhao Sheng. Once aboard the Endeavour, T'Prynn asked Sheng to depose Commodore Diego Reyes of Imperial Starbase 47 because Spock felt the situation in the Taurus Reach was getting out of control. In return, Zhao would receive his honor back, Reyes's rank and command, and the return of his lover, Atish Khatami.
Simultaneously, Reyes meets with representatives of the Klingon Empire and asks them to back his desire to become ruler of the Taurus Reach. The Klingon representatives were skeptical but, Reyes then showed them the power of the captured Shedai Wanderer by forcing her to destroy Palgrenax. This convinced the Klingons to back Reyes's desire.
With the destruction of Palgrenax, Zhao was convinced to attack Reyes and immediately set a course for the base. The Endeavour closed to point-blank range and launched an all-out attack, damaging the base. Then, the Endeavour beamed out Ming Xiong (Spock's agent aboard the base) and he released the Shedai Wanderer, who destroyed the station, but was subsequently killed by a fleet of Tholian warships. The Tholians then claimed dominion over the Taurus Reach.
