Summary[]
Rom brings Quark news that Grand Nagus Zek has disappeared and soon after is visited by Ezri, but the Ezri of the alternate universe, with a message from Zek and a request for help. Zek is being held by the Alliance, who will only let Zek go in exchange for a cloaking device. Quark enlists the help of his brother Rom, and together they steal the cloaking device from Martok’s ship and transport with the device and Ezri to Terok Nor.
Soon after arriving, they are detained by the alternate universe Bashir and taken to a holding cell. They are rescued by Brunt and the four of them flee Terok Nor on a Ferengi shuttle. Later, they rendezvous with Regent Worf’s flagship but Ezri betrays them and Quark and Rom are thrown into another cell.

When the Regent’s ship engages the cloaking device, sabotage by Rom causes the ship to lose power. Ezri rescues Quark, Rom and Zek and the ship comes under attack by the Defiant. Regent Worf is forced to surrender. Ezri allows the Intendant to escape. Safely back on Terok Nor, Rom is shocked to see Leeta is more interested in Ezri than him.
