Star Trek: The Eugenics Wars is a trilogy of novels by Greg Cox explaining the Eugenics Wars, as well as the life and times of Khan Noonien Singh.

Books[]

Although the third novel does not include Star Trek: The Eugenics Wars in its title, it is generally considered, due to its common authorship and story elements, to be the third book of a trilogy.

Appendices[]

Background[]

Regarding the series, author Greg Cox said, "I've always thought of the Eugenics Wars as the sucking chest wound of Trek continuity because we've now all lived through the 1990s, and where the hell were they? ... John Ordover, my editor, read that line [about Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln playing a critical role is stopping Khan Noonien Singh in Cox's book Assignment: Eternity] and said, "Greg, you want to write that book? So, honestly, I unintentionally set myself up for it ... I saw it as an enormous crossword puzzle. I sat down with a list of Star Trek events and characters, and then a list of real-life historical events and occasions, and tried to get as many intersections as possible. I came up with a really huge timeline, which even includes dumb little things, like references to New Coke or making sure the right song is playing in the background at the airport ... The thing down in Waco? That was the Eugenics Wars. Any number of small flare-ups, civil wars, crazed religious cults, bombings — those were all the Eugenics Wars. Even when I'm not using real events, I'm trying to be inspired by them so people will get the feeling of 'Oh yeah, this is the sort of thing that was going on.'"
