"The Guardian" is a TOS short story published in Star Trek: Explorer magazine. It was written by Gary Russell, edited by Jonathan Wilkins, and released in November 2022 in the subscriber digital supplement to Explorer, Issue 5. It first saw print publication in Titan Magazines' "The Mission" and Other Stories omnibus in 2024.
