"The Mirror War, Issue 1" is a comic, the first issue of IDW Publishing's comic miniseries, The Mirror War.
Description[]
- Return to the mirror universe of The Next Generation with this brand-new series from writers David & Scott Tipton, where familiar faces and exciting new surprises await around every corner! To conquer the mirror universe, Captain Picard must first seize control of the ship-building planet of Faundori! The only problem? Faundori is inside Klingon-Cardassian Alliance territory…
Summary[]
Jean-Luc Picard's plan is in motion but for it to suceed he needs money and resources. With Data, dressed as an Andorian, as his bodyguard, Picard violently claims what he is owed by Rogers, flying back to safety on the captain's yacht.
Aboard the ISS Enterprise-D, the Inquisitor questions Reginald Barclay. Faced with the prospect of an Agony booth, Barclay claims that the transporter put him on the USS Enterprise-D and he did what he had to to survive. But then he found Faundori, which must certainly exist in their reality. While the Inquisitor knows full well that Barclay only stayed in the other reality to enjoy its comforts, she is convinced that Faundori is real. As Picard and Data discuss their lack of trust with regards to Barclay, the Inquisitor and William Riker seal their alliance with a kiss.
In the conference room, Data confirms that their probes have discovered Faundori, but it is deep in the territory of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance. However, there is no evidence that the Klingons or Cardassians have discovered the world. As the crew debate the planet, Wesley Crusher calls Picard to the bridge.
Emerging on the bridge, the senior staff sees a Vor'cha-class ship towing dilithium, a massive replacement for all the recent raids. Three days later, the Enterprise crew, thanks to Miles O'Brien's transporter skills, beams onto the IKS Bortas. Killing the Klingons on the bridge, the Terrans deactivate the tractor beam, rig the self-destruct and beam out as the Cardassians swarm the bridge.
Picard is pleased with himself but Guinan warns him that she worries about those he has surrounded himself with.
