Description[]
After splintering the Cardassian blockade with a bold, joint attack and help from old friends, the crew of the I.S.S. Enterprise moves to end the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance once and for all! Enter the Mirror Universe and witness the fate of the Terran Empire in this explosive finale of The Mirror War!
Summary[]
With the IKS Negh'Var gone, the ISS Cronus and the ISS Defiant warp after it. When Data calls Picard for reinforcements however, the captain refuses, ordering Data to destroy Worf with what he has. Picard has his sights on a bigger prize. William T. Riker objects. The fleet is in no state to reach Cardassia Prime. Picard is asking them all to commit suicide. Taking his executive officer to the ready room, Picard and Riker engage in a brawl, one that ends with the younger man quite literally stabbing Picard in the back. Wounded but triumphant, Captain Riker steps onto his bridge and orders the fleet to change course to intercept Worf.
Aboard the Negh'Var, long range scans indicate two Terran fleets closing from either direction. Declaring today to be a good day to die, the Klingon meets the Terrans in battle only for Elim Garak to take the helm and warp off when battle damage becomes too great. Bolstered, Riker orders a channel opened to Cardassia Prime, offering Legate Dovar a chance for a cease-fire. Faced with the monumental cost to the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance, Dovar agrees to talk.
At San Francisco's Imperial Palace, Elizabeth Shelby delivers a gift to Gregory Quinn, a bomb that kills the still listless man and Alynna Nechayev. With all opposition dead or swearing loyalty to him, there is but one remnant of Picard loyalists left. When he meets with Data and Reginald Barclay on the Lunar One Colony, however, the two bear no malice for Picard's death and quickly pledge their loyalty when Riker offers to make Data a fleet captain and Barclay his XO.
Next stopping off at the Imperial Guard Headquaters, Riker wins the loyalty of the common officer by promising them even more money before Shelby suggests the auditorium of the People's Assembly Hall as a new stage. Though tradition says that someone, Tujiro Nakamura in this case, should place the crown, Riker grabs it and crowns himself as the new Emperor of the Terran Empire. After delegating the operation of Faundori to Geordi La Forge, the Emperor decides he's done enough administration for a day, going off to celebrate with Shelby and leaving an annoyed Troi to deal with the bureaucracy.
On the orbiting Enterprise, in the long-term storage compartments on Level F, Guinan regards Picard's prone form, asking what his next move is.
