Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! As always, the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Strange New Worlds and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG and Star Trek Online, as well as other eventful releases such as Section 31, the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Also, please do not include details in the summary bar when editing pages and do not anticipate making additions relating to sources not yet in release. THANK YOU

Summary[]

Dixon Hill is hired by Minuet to search for Data. She also hires Cyrus Redblock and Felix Leech to assist him. Somehow, all three are aware that the Federation is on the verge of a war with the Romulans which will involve them, but they can prevent it if they can stop the Romulans launching a pre-emptive attack. Minuet gives Hill a box which he sees as a monkey puzzle box.

The group find Data at the docks: He recognizes Minuet as a security program left behind by the Bynars. Hill sees the guards as simian, which Data and Minuet deduce means the technology they are dealing with is Chirkniz. Hill can perceive events differently from them and Data interfaces with him in order to open the box and purge the alien software. Data briefly wakes up with Hill's personality before Hill is returned to the holodeck.
