The Once and Future King was a Human novel published during the 20th century, based on the legends of King Arthur of Britain.
History and specifics[]
It was notable, in part for its portrayal of the wizard Merlin as a man who lived backwards in time, growing younger as he aged.
In the Mirror Universe, the Terran Empire considered it to be a banned book. Winona Kirk would read this story to her son, James, in secret. After killing Khan Noonien Singh and taking over his Bird-of-prey, James found Khan's copy of the book aboard the vessel. (TOS comic: "Hell's Mirror")
Doctor Elizabeth Dehner recalled this novel when Parneb, likewise, claimed to be living backwards in time. (TOS novel: Strangers from the Sky)
