In one permutation of the Kelvin timeline, James T. Kirk was adopted by Klingons who investigated the crippled Narada. Trained in the Klingon ways, The Orphan, as he became known, rose to become a prominent and feared figure in the Klingon Empire and beyond.
Biography
In the year 2233, the USS Kelvin came under attack from the Narada, a mining ship thrown back in time from the year 2387. With the Starfleet ship unable to match the hostile's advanced technology, George Kirk ordered the craft evacuated while he sacrificed himself to allow the escape pods time to evacuate. Having escaped, George's wife Winona gave birth to their son. As the battle had taken place near Klingon territory, the Klingon fleet soon arrived to investigate, abducting the Starfleet shuttles. Plucked from the shuttles and raised in the slums of Qo'noS, the Orphan became a near legendary figure in Klingon society. As he grew, he would develop a hatred for the human race, cutting swathes of destruction across the Federation, being awarded command of the IKS Chonnaq. In his travels, he crossed paths with the USS Enterprise. Under undivulged circumstances, Nyota Uhura was swayed to the Orphan's ideals only to eventually defect back to the Federation, the Orphan subsequently slaying her, earning the ire of her husband Simon Grayson. The Orphan would also make an enemy of Christopher Pike, the captain of the Enterprise. (TOS movie: Star Trek & TOS - IDIC comics: "Part 1", "Part 6")
