"The Strange and True Tragedy of Ving and Ding, the Timber Boys", or "Once a Weevil" was a play by Ferengi playwright Blemin the Bard, based on the old and popular Ferengi folk tale, "The Story of Ving and Ding". This play was one of the earliest written accounts of the story.

Blemin's play ended with the moral, "You can't free a fish from water," which later became the 217th Rule of Acquisition. (DS9 reference: Legends of the Ferengi)
