The Taming of the Shrew was a comedic play by human playwright William Shakespeare. It was one of his earlier plays, probably penned in the year 1594. In the mid 20th century, it served as the basis of a musical, Kiss Me, Kate.

History and specifics[]

In 2375, a production of The Taming of the Shrew was planned aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise-E. During their undercover mission to Darona that year, Data complimented Deanna Troi's "performance" in evading a Jem'Hadar patrol, and suggested she would make a fine Kate in the play. (TNG novel: The Battle of Betazed)
