The Werewolf-Wolf (full title: The Werewolf-Wolf: The Story of a Wolf that Can Turn into a Werewolf, Based on a Drawing by Geordi La Forge) was a holonovel, a holographic program that was in the process of being composed by Data at some point in or before the year 2371.

History and specifics[]

Data's first drafts and revisions for his attempts at being an author were stored in the Enterprise-D holodeck, but didn't appear to be approaching completion. This particular program dealt with an adversary of a werewolf-wolf, which is a wolf that turns itself into a werewolf (as the title suggests). Since the program was a draft, there were numerous inconsistencies in the scenario, some based on auto-completed dialogue and others due to Data's ignorance of social dynamics. The action was accompanied by an a capella rendition of a song, "Gotta Run From the Werewolf-Wolf, Baby", performed by Data and Geordi La Forge.

Due to a holodeck malfunction in on stardate 48163.1, William T. Riker became trapped in this holoprogram while trying to load an installment of The Continuing Adventures of Jeremy Jazz. Unable to shut down the holodeck, forcing him to play out the scenario, and all of Data's other holonovels, to completion. The endgame of the Werewolf-Wolf holonovel involved muscular versions of Data and Geordi blasting the werewolf-wolf with phaser gauntlets. (TNG - Warped short story: "Werewolf-Wolf")
