TMP Ross

Theresa Ross aboard the Enterprise in 2273.

Theresa Ross was a female Human in Starfleet in the 23rd century.

By 2273, Ross had risen to the rank of chief petty officer, and was assigned aboard the Enterprise as an engineer. During the V'Ger crisis, she heard Captain Kirk issue Starfleet Order 2005, an order to allow the ship's matter and anti-matter reserves to mix uncontrolled, which would destroy the Enterprise. She asked Commander Montgomery Scott, the ship's chief engineer, why the self-destruct had been commanded, and whether it would successfully destroy V'Ger. (TOS novel: Ex Machina; TOS movie: The Motion Picture)

Several weeks later, she detected a trace impurity in the Enterprise's dilithium matrix, which could have resulted in decreased engine performance when traveling above warp 7. A large part of the ship's engine room was briefly dismantled to correct the problem. (TOS novel: Ex Machina)
