A thermite grenade was a type of grenade weapon used in the 22nd and 23rd centuries.

Thermite was highly explosive, and by the mid 2220s the use of thermite grenades had been banned throughout the Federation.

A crate of thermite grenades was either left over from prior to the ban or had been smuggled in by followers of Adrian Kodos and stored at the former Governor's encampment. During a firefight between a Starfleet team led by Lieutenant Commander Gabriel Lorca and Kodos's people, a stray phaser shot by Lorca struck the crate, causing the thermite grenades to explode. In the resulting explosion Kodos's aide Ian Galloway and Fiona Okafor burned to death, with their bodies so badly disfigured they could only be identified through forensic technology. As Kodos had switched his genetic records with Galloway's the forensic pathologist identified Galloway's body as belonging to Kodos. (DSC novel: Drastic Measures)
