The Third Great Earth-Romulan War was an armed conflict, a war fought between the Federation and Romulans prior to 2520s decade. (NF - Tales of the Dominion War short story: "Stone Cold Truths")

Prelude[]

During the Dominion War, Federation space station commander Benjamin Sisko blamed the assassination of Senator Merken Vreenak, in the year 2374[2], on the Dominion. This led the Romulan Star Empire to join the war as ally of the Federation. (NF - Tales of the Dominion War short story: "Stone Cold Truths")

The Second Romulan War took place in the 2460s and resulted in a Federation victory. (ST - Strange New Worlds VI short story: "Guardians")

Conflict[]

The Romulans learned the truth about the Sisko lie many years later, leading to the Third Great Earth-Romulan War, which was followed by more wars.

Legacy[]

In 2525, Zak Kebron, who had lived through these time periods, used the war and its cause as an example to make his point during a discussion with his son Cal Kebron and his school mentor. (NF - Tales of the Dominion War short story: "Stone Cold Truths")

By the year 2769, the Romulans had joined the Federation. (STO - Future Proof mission: "Time and Tide")
