Tholian silk was a rare material, a silk made by the Tholian civilization.
- Since Tholians are shown to have a somewhat spider-like body form, references to their silk might be made to give the inference that they produce it from their own bodies. Alternately, it might be something they harvest from lower forms of life in their home ecosystem.
