Gracin was part of the search and rescue team which went to Tezwa in search of Commander Riker and his missing tactical team. The bodies of Lieutenants Kelly Tierney and Matthew Barnes were found along with Master Chief Petty Officer Razka, but Riker's was nowhere to be found. (TNG novel: A Time to Kill)
