Thomas Lee was a 23rd century Human man who served Starfleet as a ensign and security guard, assigned to Federation starship USS Enterprise in 2287.

Biography[]

Thomas Lee was born in Sparta Illinois, to Anna and Jack Lee. His only sibling, a sister, died when she was five years old. He graduated from Starfleet Academy in the top half of his class.

Lee was assigned to the Enterprise at Starbase 29. Shortly thereafter, the ship investigated the crash of the freighter Arcade on Dinar IV. On his first assignment, Lee was a member of a three-man security team with Hunter and Jackson. They accompanied Captain James T. Kirk, Captain Spock, Doctor Leonard McCoy and Commander Pavel Chekov to investigate the crash site, where the people who claimed to be the crew of the Arcade proved to be Haigy raiders who had captured the ship. When Ventura, the leader of the raiders, pulled his disruptor on Kirk, Lee jumped in front of the captain and fired at Ventura, who fired back, killing Lee.

According to Spock, who mind-melded with Lee as he died in an attempt to ease his pain, Lee's last conscious thought was, "I can't wait to go swimming again." (TOS comic: "Once a Hero!")
